The theme for Halloween this year is superheros. I am having trouble finding a costume that I want to make and wear. So far my options are Hawkgirl and Robin (Stephanie Brown). I'm not a huge superhero/comic gal, but my boyfriend helped me come up with these. Nothing too revealing, as I am plus-size and there will be children in the group. Are there any other suggestions?

Possibilities:
Hawkgirl, Robin (Stephanie Brown)

Taken (already claimed): Batgirl, Wonder Woman (that was my first pick)

my boyfriend is going as Hellboy, and no I will not make an Abe Sapien costume for myself.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Madame Mirage
Thena from The Eternal, she's even a mommy!
but i suggest looking from Xmen characters. there are so many different ones of every look, and style, you're sure to find one that suits you, and for the most part they don't wear super reveling outfits like most mainstream female superheros.

How about CATWOMAN.  You can go all black, put a tail and a mask with whiskers.  That would be easy to make.  Smiley

powergirl, supergirl, electra, jean grey, rogue, storm, lots of xmen ladies to pick from, you could also do the female version of any male, its creative!  let us know who you choose and post pics!

I also think X-Men is your best bet. Wikipedia is an excellent source, actually, for all things comic books. Try for example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_superheroines

Of course that's still a LOT to sort through. My suggestion would be Jubilee. She's fun, and her outfit is distinct without being spandex.

If you want to go DC, you might try whichever Wonder Woman costume the taker hasn't done. I personally am a fan of the new costume...
