I followed this tutorial, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=355797.msg4163866#msg4163866, created by Troublet to make pincushions to put into sewing kits that I am making for my two nieces...I had also received one from Troublet to be able to study and actually see in person...

I am still learning embroidery so most of the stitching is pretty basic, french knots, blanket stitch, etc. ...I am now very excited to do other embroidery projects!

These were fun to make so I am planning on making a covered tape measure and scissor covers as well for the sewing kits.

Thanks Troublet for your encouragement and great tutorial!

These are so adorable!  I love the shade of green in the first one, and the way the red pops so much off the blue in the second.  What a fun project, these are really great!

Thanks!  I have had "learn to embroider" on my list for 4 years...and now my mantra is to "practice, practice, practice"!

I LOVE these! I have been dying to make some with soda caps. Were they hard to make?

Thanks! I followed the tutorial by troublet and it was so easy!  I have been collecting lids to make many more!  It is all hand sewn and so relaxing...and you just need basic embroidery skills, which is obviously not a concern for you! Cheesy

Go for it and post your pics if you make some!

Love these! Your embroidery looks great.

I've made the soda bottle ones before but didn't think to use bigger jar lids. I'm going to have to start saving those!
