Potion Jars

with autumn hanging in the air it is time to restock my potions rack,
I am really happy with my new supplier and found everything a well stock potions pantry needs



skele-grow greatly influenced by Harry Potter

mummy wrap-

hairy troll warts

fur of werewolf

dragon scales

dead man's skin


and the jars I used:


I first covered the jars with a thin layer of polymer clay then embellished each one including the lids

I discovered curing these to be a challenge- since this type of plastic melts in a hot oven- after researching the internet I discovered that if I filled the bottles and caps with water before placing them in the oven there will be no melting- and success it worked- now I am experimenting with all kinds of plastic vessels

I would have never even thought you could heat plastic containers in the oven w/o melting - good info to know!

So cool! I love the skeleton one, but the dragon scales one is my favorite! I may have to try something like this, too, although I don't think they'd come out nearly as cool
