Question:  If you've used those chunky toddler books from dollar spot to make a new tiny book, do you just Mod Podge the heck out of the images being layered over the pages?  I'm making a counting Halloween book and some pieces are peeling up.  I thought this would be a good crowd to ask Cheesy

If you're talking about the little cardboard books with the shiny pictures on them I have two methods. If the book has thin cardboard pages I take some sandpaper and sand all the shiny coating off of the pages so glue can get a better grip on it. If it has thick pages, like the book I made for Jiasaykea, I carefully peel the pictures off the page, leaving just the plain cardboard. I then paint the cardboard with gesso or acrylics and then do my paper work on top of it.

As far as sealing it goes, I've never used anything over the tops of my pages. I just use a lot of glue on the bottoms to stick everything together good and tight. Smiley

Hi all- I have to aplolgize to Shade for not posting photos of my WONDERFUL book!  My bday was the 11th, and my dh surprised me with a trip to Wisconsin for my grandpa's 95th birthday this past weekend  Cheesy, so I left the day after I got the book and just got home on wednesday.  I didn't have computer access, so I couldn't post photos.

The ones she posted actually do a better job of showing how wonderful it is, but I wanted to show an action shot and do a little gushing!  She did a great job- the book is covered with the softest leather, and the inside pages are all different asian papers.  It really is beautiful.

Here it is on my altered book shelf:

I wanted to point out the wire-wrapped shell for the closure- too cool!

Some of my favorite pages: the asian kitty on the red page is darling!  Also, I love the tiny sticker of the goldfish on the other page- the base is map paper!!
these two pages have different asian symbols and words (not sure what the translation is... they're soooo detailed!)

also, the inside center of the book has a pleated paper detail, kind of dimentional!
This was a great swap, thank you, nooo!!  Again, sorry Shade for the delay, I truly LOVE my tiny book Smiley

I am so glad you like your book onecrazymom.  I totally forgive you! Your reason is totally forgivable.  I, of course, was worried ...swap anxiety and all, but as long as I know you are happy, all is good in my world again ...lol.
