Collars for my new English Bulldog puppy, Betty Buttons

So, about 2 1/2 weeks ago my boyfriend and I added a new addition to our family. While most couples our age want babies... we wanted an English Bulldog. It was my birthday present from him.   Meet little Betty Buttons!




After going to PetsMart, I just didn't find any collars that I fell in love with. I had seen a lot of people on here who had made some really cute dog collars and I wanted to give it a go. I mean, I make my own jewelry... so I might as well make hers, as well.   I knew she'd be going through collars like crazy so I made them in a range of sizes. I bought a bunch of really pretty fabrics from Hobby Lobby along with some interfacing to make them more sturdy. I was too impatient to buy the hardware for them online, so I just went to the Dollar Tree and bought a ton of adjustable collars and took them apart.

It was very simple and I'm really happy with how they turned out.









I apologize for the not-so-great photos. I plan on taking some tomorrow afternoon when the lighting is better and I will edit them in. There are several more that I had made that aren't pictured, so I'll be sure to add those in, as well. I also added some bows to some of them after I took these photos.

Now, I tried to get little Betty Buttons to model some of them for you all, but she is a crazy, hyper puppy and I found it very difficult. She'd run right as the flash went off. Gggrrr! So, I guess these few pictures will have to do. If I can get some better pictures tomorrow, I'll add them.  







Next I'm going to try my hand at making leashes and harnesses... and adding more embellishments. =]

You should totally get one! She is the sweetest little dog, and bulldogs have such great personalities. She snorts and snores an awful lot, though. Hehe.
