My cousin emailed me with a random question "Have you ever painted shoes before?" The answer..No! But after a bit of research and a trip to my local JoAnn Farbics, I was pretty confident I'd be able to save her a bit of money (a woman that her fiance knows charges 200 dollars for painted shoes) and give her something she will love on her special day next month.

The inspiration for the shoes was a picture she emailed me of her guest book.

I forgot to take a before picture of her shoes but this is the picture I got off the company's website where she ordered them from. They were a white satin.

I made two different size stencils for the leaves. I used some textile paint from Jacquard and a make up sponge (brand new of course) to apply the paint. I'm really happy with how they turned out. My cousin is thrilled and excited that they turned out just how she pictured them (My aunt and cousin were both nervous).

I showed my parents how the shoes turned out. My dad said "Hope you realize everyone you know is going to come to you to paint their shoes".

With a huge smile on my face, I said "Bring 'em on"

C & C always welcomed.

Thanks for looking  Smiley

What a great gift for the bride, being able to save $200 bucks!
Is her dress going to be autumn colors?

Thank you. It was definitely a lot easier than I thought it was going to be and it was fun too. You should definitely give it a go some day.

Thanks. I'm not sure what color her dress is going to be. I do know that the bridesmaid dresses are going to be autumn colors. If her dress is white, the shoes will definitely be a happy surprise  Smiley

Thank you. I agree they are definitely more fun than the dyed ones. Sure! I'd definitely would paint another pair. It was fun having a different creative outlet.

Oh my! You've inspired me to try to paint my own shoes! Someone just suggested I try to today when I was talking about how I hadn't seen anything I really liked except for some for $200. Great job!

Thanks! I was worried the leaves wouldn't come out all that great because of the curves of the shoes. I'm so happy they came out well and with no thumb or finger prints  Smiley
