Hi all! I've been doing the crochet-along for a granny square a day for a month in order to help myself keep pace in making four granny square lapghans for my bridesmaids. I finally finished my last lapghan today and just need to show the world how excited I am!
The theme for my wedding (which is in 4 weeks @_@) is rainbow and whimsical. For example, my bridesmaids will each be wearing a different color dress. I wanted to make each lapghan special so their borders are in the colors of my girls' dresses!
I crocheted the first one, purple, back in June for my first maid of honor:
With her lapghan I wanted to make squares which represented different things in her life, such as the wedding, her boyfriend, and her favorite color (purple ~_^).
Lapghan number two is this lovely green number for my second maid of honor:
I wanted to do something different and decided to make a big ol' granny square/rectangle for her. My girl is very eclectic and I thought a hodge podge of colors would mesh really well with her personality.
The lapghan I made in August is for my cousin bridesmaid:
I tried to go the rainbow route this time. Each horizontal row is focused on a different color.
The final lapghan that my aching wrist just finished making (by the way, I also work at an ice cream shop and scoop very hard ice cream every day) is for my youngest bridesmaid and cousin:
Don't let the border fool you; it is actually turquoise in color. For her I also went the rainbow route and a large granny square-rectangle.
This has been a crazy summer full of crocheting, working, and planning my wedding. And my wrist is happy to finally have a bit of a break.
