Tudor Rose Purse

[Pretty Little Rainbow]

I made this bag out of some of the fabric my very nice grandmother gave me. The best part is that it converts into either a handbag or cross body bag. The best, best part is that this flower doesn't attract bugs

Here's the genius behind it:

The bag takes a LOT of material. I cut 40 petals and 40 leaves total and that doesn't include the actual bag and straps.

The center is one piece of fabric. The weave look is achieved through canadian smocking:

The bag was supposed to have a zipper AND a purse snap but that was redundant so I only used a snap:

I went to the site and made sure to save the tute -- looks like it won't be around forever.

I was thinking in addition to the purse, this pattern could be used to make some really beautiful throw pillows or chair cushions.
