Thanks so much for everyone's encouragement!  We just picked up our fair entries, and brought home 36 blue ribbons, 11 second place ribbons (including the big one for second place antique quilt) and 9 third place ribbons!  We earned the largest check of this year's fair.

Here are a few of my blue ribbon canned goods in close up.  I am particularly proud of the canned tomatoes and dill pickles, those are the categories with the most entries.  Now to start planning for next year's fair...

Original Post:
This morning was turn-in for the county fair.  Here are my baked goods, canned goods and garden entries.  I brought home 23 blue ribbons and $97 last year, am hoping to break $100 this year.  Smiley

Looking at the photo, I think you must be talking about garlic and a super wonky sweet potato I dug up this week.  It looks like a snake about to strike.  I almost put some clove eyes in it but thought that might tick the judges off.  Better safe than sorry.   Wink

Well, let's see... honey with and without honeycomb, pickled carrots, dilled green beans, BBQ sauce, peach BBQ sauce, salsa, tomatoes, pickled beets, dill pickles, mixed pickles, lemon pickles, picked peppers, vinegar peppers, dill relish, blackberry, blueberry & peach jam, candy apple, blackberry, peach, strawberry, cherry, apricot & hot pepper jelly, cherry, fig, peach, pear, strawberry & honey peach preserves, plum sauce, chili sauce, kasoundi, peach rum sauce, pickled zucchini, peach puree and chocolate raspberry jam.  I think that's all of them.  I can a lot and always set aside the prettiest jar for the fair.  I dropped a box of 6 jars on the floor this AM, so submitted the second prettiest jars for those categories.   Tongue

Wow! Canning on a small scale wears me out- you are amazing! I've never heard of lemon pickles or kasoundi, so I guess I have some google-ing to do.  Smiley

So far I've had bad luck with my refridgerator dill pickles. Any suggestions?

Thanks very much!  We tried the lemon pickles last night, they aren't very tasty.  Kasoundi is a tomato and cayenne pepper based condiment with lots of Indian spices.  I don't have any experience with refrigerator dill pickles to assist when_im_sixty4, does anyone else?
