I whipped this thing up tonight in about an hour.  The hardest thing was the tree on front, which I drew freehand (and I'm not much for drawing).  I'm very impressed with how it looks.

The beige is a very thick canvas and the redish on the sides and strap is faux suede.

I think the tree makes the bag so wonderful! Simple and beautiful.
Nice work! Wink

I really like the tree!  Did you just use a sharpie to draw it on?  That's very much my style, kind of minimalist and organic.  I might have to try something like that.

Yea, after I finished the bag, I drew a simple outline with a fabric pencil just to size it right, then I took a sharpie and drew the tree.  I'm not much of an artist, but I was very impressed with the way the tree turned out.  I usually only draw geometric things.  This was also my first time making a messenger style bag.  I really really like it.
