Thank you very much, everyone! I had no idea my terrain would get this kind of response - it gives me a good kick in the pants to make more!

living with an inferno doesn't mean it has to swallow you whole, you just have to know when to feed the flames.

These are beautiful! I do lots of to scale model building (I'm a set designer) and yours are top quality, seriously.
Foam core is great for making steps - you cut the different sizes, stack them up, then coat them in some gesso or whatever to apply texture. Much faster than the carving! (But your carving is really very beautiful)
Do you have a large collection of odds and ends and beads and such for model making? I do, and it drives my husband kind of crazy . . .

I do indeed have a large collection of odds and ends for terrain building - it happens to be in our kitchen >< lol. I'm very lucky that my husband builds terrain, too - so we've got plastic stacking drawer shelves hidden under things in the kitchen for ease of pulling them out and working on them on the kitchen table. Though...you can rarely actually *see* the kitchen table - haha Wink

Ah - you are lucky to have him involved too! I'm lucky that stuff is all in my studio now - I used to be a kitchen table (and living room coffee table) girl too. Wink
