I'd made myself a big bag for my knitting from the Weekend sewing book (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Weekend-Sewing-Projects-Inspired-Stitching/dp/1584796758) and my mum having spotted it wanted one for herself - perfect for the beach apparently.

So now that the weather is returning to cold, rainy and windy i've finally completed the beach bag.

Mum wanted it made in denim and so there were delays whilst i collected old jeans and jackets in order to make it. The lining is from a pair of curtains and the pocket from my favourite pair of jeans (they got shredded over time). I amended the pattern a bit as i didn't have a long enough piece to make the original handle size but i think i prefer it to the one i made for myself. isn't that always the way?

anyway here it is - comments always welcome!
