I thought I'd point this out to craftsters - info in their words and links below.

BLUE WRAP is a fabric used to wrap surgical supplies for sterilization in U.S. hospitals. Most of it is not recycled!

PARTNERS FOR WORLD HEALTH is collecting BlueWrap and giving it to artists, colleges, & high schools, & challenging them to create works of art from it. The emphasis is on wearable art, to be sold at a Project Runway event in December. However, PWH has a HUGE supply of BlueWrap & encourages you to be innovative & not limited to clothing.

All money raised will be used to buy medications for distribution in developing countries. email bluewapproject@gmail for more info...

Please contact us to get the materials of varying weights and shades of blue you need for a garment, accessory or object you will create and design predominantly from blue wrap material.
Some works selected for their high levels of innovation, craftsmanship and use of blue wrap will be considered for a fashion show event
at the Portland Museum of Art Dec 2nd. Other articles created will be exhibited locally. Sales from the proceeds of these garments and items will be used to purchase and deliver medicines for Third World countries.
