I've been working on a few baby blankets recently, I don't seem to be able to make one that is 'just right'.

This is the first one, I like the colour and the pattern, but it just feels a bit heavy.

This is just a simple one, maybe a bit too simple. I think it's a bit boring.  Undecided

and the close up

Please let me know what you think.

I love them both. What yarn did you used for the first one the color variation is amazing?  If you want to spruce up the second one, even though I love it the way it is, add some ribbon with color. Tie bows in the corners.

So many ideas so little time. Will I ever get them all done?

I think they are both lovely!  If you think the second one is too plain maybe a yarn with a color variation would give it more visual interest?  Sometimes just a change in color can really make a difference.  I think the white would be especially beautiful for a Christening!   Smiley

The first blanket's coloring is so calming and peaceful. I love that.

Wow!  Both blankets are gorgeous!  I especially like the first. It looks "just right" to me!
I have to get working on some baby blankets myself.  I've got 3 grandbabies on the way!  Smiley

If I'd known having grandchildren was so much fun, I would've had them first!

I'll say it again - really beautiful - BOTH of them!  Those will be some lucky babies!

They both are beautiful.  The first one does not look too heavy, it looks cozy and warm.  The second is not too plain, it looks very soft and delicate.  Great work!

Both are very pretty, on the 2nd on you could crochet some little flowers and add them on, but it's very pretty just the way it is.

I really like both of them!  The first one has a great pattern and the colors are beautiful.  The second is very beautiful, you can add some embellishments to jazz it up.

I really like both blankets you made! What brand and color of yarn is the first one made from? I know beth8144 already asked, but I'm also curious. It's so pretty. The second blanket doesn't seem boring to me at all. It looks so soft and delicate and sweet.
