Hmm, I always measure out in same sized clear plastic cups, up to a line and then by eye as well. I pour resin into the hardner mix like crazy, get a clean popsicle stick, pour into the cup that had resin in it, mix like crazy again and then pour into my forms. I also make sure that the room, or the area is away from air or heat vents, as changes in temp. can affect the setting of resin.

Hope this helps.

That is what I did to the best of my knowledge but it still did not work. Is there a way of melting it down or dissolving it? I really just want to get the item out and do something else with it.

Rubbing alcohol will dissolve resin when it's still wet, but when it's set, I don't know of anything besides chipping it away. Sorry.

I made a couple larger pieces with resin and they turned out either too tacky or too bubbly.  I hadn't used it since then until this year when I made a charm bracelet for the Vintage Halloween swap and used a toothpick to apply a coat on images that had been set in tiny bezels and then Mod-Podged.  I have a paint-stripper, so I used that to get the air bubbles out, although I had to hold it far away to keep the blower from splattering the resin back out.

I don't suggest using a heat gun if you're using resin around a dead insect.  It seriously fries them and you end up with a black mass of crispiness.

I found some stuff online that is said to work on epoxy and polyester resins, so I am going to give it a shot. It can be purchased at any hardware store apparent - let's hope it isn't too expensive.

I just started to work with resin (epoxy resin, to be specific), and I found that some of my first pieces were a bit tacky. I think it's because I didn't have a perfectly equal blend of the two things you mix together (for the life of me, I can't remember what those two things are called!)

Just checking out your wonderful gallery  Grin  When stuff I make with resin turns out tacky I just spray it with clear indoor/outdoor sealant, it works wonders!

This is my second of two days off and I am so glad for them.  I recently acquired a new job, so I'm transitioning from my old job (my boss at my old job just didn't get it that, no, I can't work those days because I have a NEW job).  One of my coworkers at the new job had to take time off because her dad had emergency surgery so I was working full time  (I usually work part-time, I dunno how you full-timers do it!).  So!  I am sending tomorrow since today the P.O. is closed.

Prepare for serious swap jealousy because here are the items SuzannahAshley sent me.

Firstly, all the five items I received were wrapped nicely but I really like these patterns.

This is the item SuzannahAshley SneekPreviewed...A very nice paper cut BooScenery ready to hang.

Then I got a necklace...

I cannot choose my favourite from these two items. They are both soooo fantastic. Lot of squealing happened when I opened the packages. May I present you a Halloween Hoopla and a Garland!

I can't bear the cuteness of these things. Details and the quality...Anyone who gets SuzannahAshley as their partner will be very happy crafters indeed. Last but not least, here is the obligatory loot shot. Here you can see the cute little stamp set I got as an extra...
