I'm so relieved it got there AND you like it!!!
I love putting together altered books!
I've got so many old dictionaries, kids encyclopedias and anatomy books - they're some of my favorite things to play with!
I stalked you quite a bit and tried to put in things that you liked - the hands page ended up being one of my favorites!
The dictionary pages were mostly random!
I tried not to finish any of the pages - that was difficult in some cases, I'll be curious how you interpret them differently than how I would've interpreted them!

AND I sent early!!!

Power is strength and the ability to see yourself through your own eyes and not through the eyes of another. It is being able to place a circle of power at your own feet and not take power from someone else's circle.

Love the pictures! My first (and current) art journal is an altered book. I find that since the pages already have text, it is less intimidating for me instead of a blank page!

I totally agree, the "built in" layer helps add depth too. My only problem is I like to put everything into my single journal and when I want to sketch out an idea I have to gesso first- it throws the creative flow off.

I used to gesso too .. now I have some pre-gessoed pages, but I also keep a stack of cast off paper near and just glue it down.  I use the stuff that my printer doesn't print correctly, or envelopes, or the backs of the notes my kids get from school (why do they waste so much paper in the schools?) or whatever.  That way you never have to put a crimp in the creative flow again!
