We had tons of cardboard piling up, so put it to use making things for our kitty, Burton Guster (otherwise known as Gus, or Chocolate Einstein...)
So, he got a padded bed, from a box, tons of scraps of batting/stuffing, and an old pillowcase.
My husband cut a bunch of cardboard into strips and made a scratching pad, (he just shoved all the strips into a box top) like the ones we had seen in Petsmart. Amazingly, our kitty, who has never really scratched anything, went right to it and began to claw. It is still the only thing he claws on, so apparently, it works!

So cute! What a smart project. Also, your cat's name is the best thing ever.  Cheesy

Damn my husband for making boxes, but that's corrugated paper. Cardboard is like what cereal boxes are made of (trust me, I kept calling all boxes cardboard and the husband would get SO MAD since he worked for a long while at a warehouse making corrugated paper boxes). XD

I really need to do something like that; we've ended up with 4 cats and they have nothing to scratch.

For the bed-box, did you sew the cover around it into place? Or is it draped over? Smiley

Note for partners: I have gauged ears, so classic earrings don't really work for me. Smiley

Hahah  Love the kitty's name.  "Gus, don't be a gooey chocolate chip cookie."  Kudos.
