Thank you for all your nice comments! I have been decorating cakes for about twelve years. I teach cake and cookie decorating workshops through VA Tech at Reynolds Homestead on occasion and love to do that.

To make the flowers, I use Wilton gumpaste which you can get at Walmart and sometimes craft places like Michaels. It's really fun to noodle around with it....I make all kinds of stuff out of it, but I have slowly moved away from cake decorating and am now doing polymer clay which is so much fun!!! And no one eats it.
I am happy to answer any questions anyone has about cake decorating. I still love to do it, but "the clay" calls me! :-)
Here is a picture of a demo cake I made this past April for a workshop/demo I taught in South Dakota. All the flowers are made of sugar (gumpaste). I should also add that I am completely
self taught. I learned by making a lot of mistakes!
