Just using up some odds and ends of yarn over here and decided to cast on for the Foliage Hat from Knitty 2007.

I used one skein of Wool Ease Chunky in the colorway "Grass" on US8 needles.  The hat fits snuggly but not TOO snug, which is nice and it worked up quite quickly!

Someone who's the same as me - no respect at all for the yarn weight used in the pattern. And therefore the gauge and needle size.

Looks great!!

Thanks, everyone! It was a good, fast knit which is exactly what I needed!

And, actually, my gauge was correct. Smiley   Malabrigo Chunky knits at 15 stitches to 4" and Wool Ease Chunky is 14sts/4".  I tend to knit slightly looser, so I compensated by using smaller needles. Smiley

It looks fantastic. I have some Wool Ease chunky laying around...just enough for a new hat! The lace pattern really makes the bulky yarn look delicate. Thanks for the inspiration.
