All I need is a stitch pattern for a houndstooth effect to crochet. 

A blanket, scarf or whatever is fine as long as the stitch pattern is there.

I have seen a lovely houndstooth coat which is done in crochet mesh and then the vertical rows are woven in to give the houndstooth effect.

While I LOVE the coat, I wonder if there is some way to make the houndstooth effect in crochet without all that weaving afterwards.   Roll Eyes

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I made a hook roll (what seems like) ages ago for a swap that was a houndstooth pattern.  I did it in sc, and carried the unused strand of yarn along as I went.  I'm not sure if I have the graph I used for it anymore... I think I just looked it up on wikipedia and used Excel to make a repeating graph.
