It all started with one...sitting there, so innocent and fuzzy.  But then they started multiplying...

So, yeah, I spent my weekend sewing tribbles--14 at last count.  We're having a Star Trek themed party (yes, I am that geeky) and I decided it would be fun if everyone got a tribble as a party favor.  Grin

I created the pattern based on David Gerrold's description of the original pattern they used for the episode, which is essentially an elongated figure-8 folded in halve to make fuzzy oval.  It's ridiculously easy to sew up, and can be resized to make a tribble of whatever size you desire.

Basically, get yourself some fun fur in browns, greys, or white (Joann had a bunch, I guess because Halloween is coming up?) and cut out your pattern.  Fold it in half and sew, leaving a 2"-ish gap at the top.  Turn and fill with stuffing and then sew up your opening.  I did mine on the machine, but you could just as easily hand sew them.  Use a wire brush to tease up the fur into a wild hair-do, and voila, a tribble of your own.

If you want a more detailed step by step photo tutorial, you can take a peek here: http://www.thenerdette.com/?p=321

Just be careful, when you're dealing with tribbles, things can get out of hand quickly...  Grin Shocked

We only have the one tribble in our house (my valentines pressie from my hubbie this year). His name is Caramel, on account of his colour, and he purrs when you pick him up  Grin (he has one of those motion sensor things in him)

Hope your party is great fun !
