I found a link to a website dedicated to yarn bombing. People send in pictures of yarn bombing they have seen/participated in, I guess. Maybe it could be a source of inspiration and ideas.

http://yarnbombing.com/

I don't know how much opportunity I'll get to yarn bomb, but I'm super interested to see what some of you come up with. Good luck!! Grin

i so want to do this, but i have to convince my friends to do it with me!
i'm kinda scared though because some cities react differently than others. some consider it art, some consider it vandalism, and i really don't want a vandalism arrest on my record!
October is breast cancer awareness month so i was thinking about tagging some stuff in pink yarn and putting a piece of paper on it re: breast cancer awareness.

or, i heard this radio program last night that had a story on yarn bombing! the girl on the story said she rescues old handmade afghans from thrift stores (you know, ones that smell or have a burn hole or have a stain on it or something) and uses them to bomb bigger items. it's especially tempting for one who doesn't have a lot of extra $ for yarn, or who takes a loooooong time to finish a project!

can't wait to see what you guys all do!

I just had some surgery, but once I'm more mobile I'm going to bomb the local stop sign that everyone runs thru.  It's right by a park and on the way to a school, so I don't quite understand why there are not more accidents there.  But I have watched 6 out of 10 cars run it in a row.  Maybe it will help them PAY ATTENTION!  If the cops stop me I will use the argument that I was just trying to make it more obviouse heheheh.  It may be a few onthes but I'll post when I do it.

To all past swap partners....If something I made you fell apart in some way, it would be helpful to me if you PMed me and told me about it.  Sometimes, I try new things, and if they fail, it helps me to know

Does anyone happen to know the dimensions of a stop sign pole off hand please?  I can start crocheting if I knew what size to crochet..*crosses fingers*

You could crochet it in a stretchy stitch like triple crochet and then it will fit. If its a bit long just overlap it.

I saw an awesome bit of knitted yarn bombing the other day in bristol. It had loads of little bobbly bits on. I took a picture but its stuck in my camera.

I'm going to make a start on some pieces today as i've got a stinky cold and stuck at home.

I've got a lamp post outside our house just BEGGING for some yarn bombing.  I'm going to do it in rainbow colours which would make my daughter very happy!  I'll go outside to measure it first and then get crocheting.
