A good friend's bithday was coming up and since  he's a big Futurama fan I thought I'd surprise him with a crocheted brain slug. I used this pattern here (the felt eye would have made me feel like a cheater, so I crocheted one instead Tongue)

I attached a hairpin to its bottom so it could be worn. Here's a pic of yours truly in the brain slug's grip Smiley

And I'm really happy that my friend loved it  Cheesy

This is what he got last year when I'd just taught myself to crochet:

So, what do you think?

It would also make a good, super simple Halloween costume.

OK, someone needs to attempt a Hypno-toad amigurumi. Or a Starro, from the Justice League comics (purple starfish looking thing, attaches to head like brain slug and controls the host.).   :-)

Thank you everyone! I see so many awesome things around these parts that I thought my humble brain slug wouldn't be noticed at all Tongue

Actually the hairpin worked so well on my hair that after taking the photo I wandered around the house doing some chores and forgetting about it completely for nearly an hour before I caught a glimpse of it in a mirror  Embarrassed

Ooooh, a hypnotoad would be amazing for next year!
