These are my first paper mache pieces, two little pumpkin lanterns. I got a lot of inspiration from www.stolloween.com, www.pumpkinrot.com and www.ghoulfriday.com-these people really love Halloween and make the most amazing Halloween art and share their paper mache tips. These lanterns are inspired by paper mache ones from the 1940s, and I have a few more I am working on-a devil, a ghoul and a ghost.

One started out as a balloon, which was covered with newspaper strips and glue, and the features were built up with claycrete and paperclay.  The other was built over a plastic bag stuffed with paper and more bags and then tied to resemble a pumpkin, with more newspaper, glue and papreclay. Both are finished with acrylic paints and sealer.

Wow, nice job.  I also am thankful for the websites you listed, I am really wanting to try paper mache once I am able to get the ingredients.  They're really are no limits when it comes to paper mache, are there?  I don't think so.  You have inspired me to try this out.  Thanks.
