I'm so proud of this bag. I was so intimidated by it when I started, but now I may make a couple more for my boys to carry, maybe in a smaller size. This thing is really big, easily big enough for a few days out of town. First time I've ever quilted anything but I love what it does for the bag. The only thing I would change is to add another side pocket and maybe make that front pocket a little less deep. This fabric is so yummy I bought some more to make a tote from as well as a make up bag. Oh the pattern I used was Simplicity 2600.

Wow! That fabric is spectacular and the piping and trim just so sharp. Beautiful job, it looks really difficult. I can't see the quilting in these pics.  Kiss Sad but the whole effect is amazing. Got any pics of the inside and lining?

The lining is just solid khaki and the inside is kinda wierd, because of the way the bag is constructed. The seams are all encased in binding tape. I guess it's made that way because the handles are all stitched to both the outside and the liner fabric. I've never made a bag like that before, but it kind of made sense. I think in this case, it makes the bag sturdier. It certainly was a pain to sew that binding tape over those side seams though. So I guess, you aren't missing much by not having photos of the inside. - it's just not that exciting.

Great fabric indeed and the bag is awesome.

Recently 'discovered' sewing machines and now I am addicted. I have been making clothes and bags and I want to try to make poppet sometime soon.
