I've never made (or actually worn) a snood in my life, but this site has a lot of patterns: http://home.inreach.com/marthac/snood.html
Hope that helps a little!

there is no pic of this one but if it is from a book as old as the person says, betcha it is a good one..
http://www.knitting-crochet.com/found/snood.html

here is a page that links a few as well..
http://crochet.about.com/od/snoods/

You could totally update one of these puppies by attaching the ever so popular right now crocheted flower..

there are tons more out there.  I just did a dogpile search for crochet snood pattern and came up with oodles.
I had one from a magazine somewhere that had a big horking bow on top.  I always thought it was really cool.  I never did make it and now that I have lopped off all my hair it will probably wait another 10 years until I grow long hair again not that it takes me 10 years to grow hair but it will probably take me that long to want it again!

"hotlinking" means that every time someone looks at that image it is being served up by the webserver of the business that is offering that item for sale. it is considered very rude.. and pretty unfair to the folks at snoods.com who are paying for the bandwidth.
if you think its okay to be ripping images from small independent designers' websites to post them here then its better form to host them on your own server. make sense?

Oh!  That's a good term to know -- I've a colleague who uses it to refer to links that take you to 'hot' (read porn) sites, and assumed he was using the term because that was what it meant.  Thanks croshay!!  Smiley

How about making a tam or beret using mesh/net-like stitches?  You might want to work a piece of elastic in the headband.
