I cut the straps off a gray singlet, took in the sides, made a bow and straps and a band of fabric for the neckline all from material salvaged from a horrific top I loved the material of from the op shop. Sorry you can't see most of the bow but I promise it's there!

This top fit to start with so all I did was cut out hearts, placed them on the top, found a thick yellowish thread in the depths of my sewing box, zigzag stitched around the hearts with my machine and then hand stitched a few sections Id missed  Embarrassed Decided it isn't sloppy stitching, it's charmingly rustic  Wink

Thanks for looking, hope youre all having just as much fun with your own recons!

Oh. No.

Minor crisis.

Was looking for these tops (and all the other clothes I'd modified) and remembered I gave them to an op shop because I changed my taste in clothes.

Didn't recon them further, didn't dye them, didn't wait to see if my tastes changed back, just got rid of them.

Won't do that again. Lesson learned. Have to get to modifying a new wardrobe. Fresh start.

Wait, did I actually start this by saying it was a crisis? Wow, well if this is bad enough to be considered a crisis in my books then I'm pretty lucky to have such a crisis free life!

Thanks for all your supportive comments, makes me feel like stitchin' Wink

Me too! Moving later this summer & have been purging like crazy in anticipation. Including several bags of clothes I've recently donated that, seeing stuff like this, makes me regret that in a big way.

I love how your shirts turned out! They're very simple ideas that changed the shirts completely.
