I live in an apartment so I am not allowed to do any permanent changes but I couldn't not stand the look of the bathroom mirrors any longer!

Eventually I'd like to frame the larger mirror using wood trim, and I know how I can do it without it being permanent I just have to have money for supplies, maybe soon!

I really hate that medicine cabinet. If it were up to me we wouldn't even have one. It's just silly mirrors side by side like that and so plain and boring! So I made a faux frame for it! I used a thick paper (cardstock like) and contact paper. Here is the final result:

Now it looks like I hung a mirror there (kinda sorta) and adds a little whimsy Smiley

More in depth post on my blog including a walk thru of my process Smiley Was just too many photos to upload onto my photobucket then copy to here and quite a long story.

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

Nice, I like the wood grain.  I'd just add a little contact paper bird silhouette on the wall behind it - so it looks like a bird is perched on top.  That'll complete the whimsy.  Smiley

That's really great! It actually looks like you fashioned it out of wood.

Thank u all! A little bird would be so cute! That might be taking it a bit too far for my hubby Smiley im  a bit afraid of putting anything with adhesive on the walls. That's actually in our lease no adhesive or sticky stuff on the walls. I know they make removable vinyl decorations but I still worry Smiley

I love it!!  Great job!   Smiley

I second the birdie idea.  Have you ever used this stuff? http://www.saundersoffice.com/product.aspx?sku=DIX81002  It works great for putting up smaller items on the walls (like a cardstock birdie, just sayin'....) and it comes right off.  I use it for seasonal decorations when I plaster my walls with things like bats for halloween or snowflakes for christmas.   Being in an apartment and crafty, I highly recommend you getting some.  Smiley

This looks so great!  It does make the medicine cabinet look like a nice deliberate accessory.  Funny thing, I have exactly the same bathroom mirror setup - it is a LOT of mirrors.  Great idea, I am definitely remembering this one!

Neat! I used to have stuff simular to that growing up but it was blue, it always left a blue stain or oil stain on the wall. Is that stuff better?
