this is such a cute idea!  i do like the bracelet better though.  just because i know i would hurt myself somehow with the sharpened ends of the necklace.  or worse, break them!  that would suck the most, to ruin the shape.

That's a nice colorful idea and the bracelet is particularly fun. I wonder how you would go about making a matching ring? That could be an interesting challenge. Good job!

Love the necklace so much that I might make one for myself! However I would coat the pencil leads with clear acrylic so that the pencils wouldn't mark up my clothing.

Although you do know, however, that you are to never, ever run with a pencil with a sharp point.  So as an overprotective mother    (soon to become an overprotective grandmother), I must caution you to never EVER run while wearing this lovely although potentially dangerous necklace!!

I see you're a Sydneysider, do you ever go see the Design Exhibition that NIDA has at the end of each year? You might enjoy it, the students have a lot of interesting stuff to show that they've been making throughout the years they've been there. There should be a new exhibition coming up soon. I saw one of these pencil necklaces at an exhibition there a few years ago and it jogged my memory.
