aww you guys.  Thank you for all the support.  The kitty (and all future patches) is made of fleece.  Still able to be sewn by hand without unravelling, but soft against the skin.  A friend suggested that I back them in satin, because that way they would stay cool, but I haven't tried that yet.  Will post more patches when I get them done- she's already requested a sheep and a frog.

If you watch the TV show Pushing Daisies(It's on netflix) Aunt Lily has a huge collection of sparkley and awesome eye patches. A lot of them look like they've got vintage brooches and stuff on them.

You're daughter is adorable, and who knows? Maybe she'll have an eyepatch/jewelry collection!

That is such a cute idea. The kitty is my favorite. Little Bean has been wearing glasses since he was 18 months. So far I haven't had to patch, but if I do I have a great crafty idea.  Grin

That is super cute!!  I wish I had thought of that when my daughter was patching for her eyes.  Would have been a lot better than those band-aid like patches.  And she porabaly would have worn them more often to.  She finally has surgery to correct the lazy eyes.

My big brother has MS and it affects his eyesight...he hated the eye patch he was given at the hospital and made my mum go and buy a patch from a pirate costume (he's 31)!  I think he'd love these too.   Cheesy
