my son is 6yrs old and is now in kindergarten.  he has a rest period during the day.  he asked me to make him a pillow.  well, i could have,b ut then where would the fun be in that?  Smiley

since he's been interested in using the sewing machine, i thought this would be a PERFECT project for him.  he obviously wanted the finished product, so that would keep his interest level piqued through out the process.

so we went rummaging thru my stash of fabric and he found a fleece he liked.

then we did the pattern creation - wht size would he like; what accoutrements would he like, etc.  he decided he wanted a handle on his travel pillow and i wanted it to have a zipper - 'cause every pillow gets laundered and it gets lumpy in time.  this would make it easy to fix that.

so he did everything except the zipper.  he could have done that, but truly, i wasn't sure if *I* had the patience for him to do that, too - he sewed so carefully and slowly. . .

so here are teh pics!

don't know why pillow looks crooked - he sewed straight lines!

Hooray for talented kindergarteners and patient, involved parents! Great job.
