I love Stitch! He is my favorite Disney character!
Several months ago, I finished embroidering a Stitch that I colored in with fabric markers.  I wasn't sure what to do with it, then I bought all these wonderful Stitch fabrics from Japan in this etsy shop  http://www.etsy.com/shop/ThisandThatFromJapan?ga_search_query=thisandthatfromjapan&ga_search_type=seller_usernames, and I knew I should make a wall hanging.
Then we moved.  Fast forward to now, where my sewing machine is set up in the living room while my room is being done (where the wall hanging will go).  Since I can't paint the walls til the room is done, I have to do something - sew!

On to pictures!

It's about 24inx24in. I quilted some of the elements to hold in the batting and outline some cute stuff!

A cute Stitch panel

Up-close of Stitch!

Another panel.

I had a lot of fun making this and can't wait until my room is done to hang it up!

Do you think I should put anything in the solid colored squares?  Comments and suggestions welcome!

If this is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it - it is embroidery, I just made a quilt out of it.

I think a Hawaiian flower and a guitar would be nice additions to the blank spaces.  If you can think up two more, you'd have something different for each space.  Maybe some sort of space gun or ship?  I haven't watched Lilo and Stitch in a looong time, though.  I'm sure there's something spacey you could add!

I really like the fabrics and embroidery!  One thing I would suggest is quilting through all the layers, perhaps around each block.  If you're going to hang it, you don't want your lovely work to get saggy!

Thanks for the suggestions! I was thinking some Hawaiian themed things might be in order.
Also, thanks for the suggestion to quilt through all the layers to avoid sagginess!  I'm not a quilter and never would have thought of that! I will definitely be doing that tonight!

Hi Bobomom:

Love the quilt and the color.  Very Hawaiian.  I agree about doing some quilting on the blank blocks to prevent sagging and distortion.   Maybe on one of the blocks,  you could quilt your name and the date you did it.  I always used to date and sign my work (nice for future generations to see).
Just wondering if Bobo has claimed it yet?

Great work,
Luv,

Thanks Mom!
Bobo hasn't claimed it yet, and won't, because I've worked too hard on it! He has been eyeing it though. Smiley
I will definitely do some quilting on the blank blocks to prevent sagging.  I will have to look up Hawaiian themes - maybe a hibiscus?  I think I will also do my name and date!
