I debated on putting this in the Halloween thread since I made this for Halloween last year, but since I will be wearing it to ComiCon, too, I figured this would be the better place.

This is a costume I made for myself last year to duplicate the look of Rachel the Replicant from the movie Blade Runner. She was originally played by Sean Young, and had many great costumes to chose from in the film. I ended up setting on this ensemble. For those of you who haven't seen the movie, an image of Sean Young is here:

I drafted the patterns and made the whole thing from scratch. My only regret is that I didn't make the shoulder pads even bigger. In person they seemed HUGE, but in photos they actually don't seem so large and in charge.

I got my fabulous friend to do my hair up in those glorious victory rolls. I wish she was available to do that every day.

I convinced my friend do dress up at Pris (another replicant from the movie), and no one recognized us all night. It was slightly depressing, but a guy did yell from across the street as we were getting into a cab at the end of the night. He screamed "F&C$ YEAH! BLADE RUNNER!!!!"  Totally made my night.

We had absolutely no clue that Rocky Horror was standing next to us (keep in mind that I'm 5'9" and was in 4" heels. He may have been the tallest man in panties I had ever seen.

Oh my gosh- you and your friend look amazing!  Shocked You should be so happy with how your looks turned out! Isn't that frustrating that no one knew who you were? Ugh that happened to me last year when I was Leeloo from Fifth Element (orange suspender ensemble and a damn good wig). What the heck people?

Question: do you know how your friend did your hair? I'm going to try to be Rachael for Halloween and have absolutely no idea how to get my hair to do that and no friend who can style my hair for me.  Tongue I've tried finding tutorials on Youtube but haven't been able to find anything. I've only been able to find styling for "victory rolls" which isn't the same since it's one curl on the sides of your head and it doesn't extend the entire way down the head... and I can't tell what she did at the very back of your hair with the leftover section.  Undecided Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!
