Hi folks!  It's been ages since I've posted any of my new work.  I guess it's because there was nothing really that new and exciting that I wanted to share.  But today I do!!!  I've been steampunking!!!

These pieces were inspired by a huge box of watch parts that I got off of ebay last fall.  I had loads of fun sorting through it all though it took me many hours. *phew*.  It was filled with all sorts of springs, glass casings, screws, gears, and men's/woman's watch movements.

The big watch movements that I found there inspired me to make some fun Steampunk pieces so I began hunting through my collection of metal stampings.  Most of this stuff is the result of that.  The scarab piece is one of my favorites.  I think a watch movement is much nicer than a ball of dung.  Smiley

I'm going to be playing with the glass casings next.  I'm thinking of trying my hand at some altered art pendants for those!   Grin Grin Grin

Bees and Beetles:

Hope you enjoyed them!!  C & C welcomed!!

Aw, thank you Ladies.  I had lots of fun playing with them.  I'm thinking of fun ways to embellish them by adding beads to the chains and dangling drops off of them.  I have another batch in the works and I'll test these ideas out then.
It's a really fun way to make use of non-vintage watch parts!  Smiley

You did a great job on these! Of all of them I think the dragonflies have the best flow, with the shape and design of the circular pendants. At first glance I thought you might have made their tail ends out of random metal bits, but now I see that that's really their shape, which is awesome, and a dragonfly that is partially made of random metal bits would be all the more awesome to try! I like how the scarabs are (in my mind) worshiping or at least rolling their little clockwork treasure.

"Dung beetles of joy" is a phrase I'm going to have to incorporate into my lexicon!  Cheesy

This crafter is out of service most of the rest of 2015 due to a wild schedule, swapping once in a while when I can't fight the feeling anymore ("I've forgotten what I started fighting fooooor...").
Personal swaps: I have lots of home-grown rosemary and white sage available, plus altered journals.
