This swap has been so fun!  Not only did I recieve an amazing first hoop for my hoopla wall, It was also my first ever cross stitch item too.  Ive been inspired to do more embroidery & try cross stitch now.   I will be sitting out next round though.  Im in the mini 12 days of christmas so, between that and starting my holiday crafting for family I have a pretty huge list of things to make.  But, Im practicing my cross stitch (which will hopefully be good enough to give as christmas gifts.) and will be waiting for a hoopla round after the holidays.

I'm going to go ahead and post the hoop pic I took of what I sent my partner.  I'm not sure what's going on there, but anyhoo, this pic is not the greatest, but it works.

So, I had my daughter draw me her little cartoon she does that shows a little alien dude doing cute things.  She wants to make t-shirts or greeting cards with him and his co-horts someday.  I tried to crayon color him after the fact, which I know now is harder to do than if you color him before you start the embroidery.  I just thought that there was so much space and he needed a little color.  It was harder to do than I thought.

It's hard to see, but the bowl is holding french knotted grapes and satin stitched (I think that's what it's called) apple and banana.  Sorry about the fuzziness.
