As promised...here are some photos of the wonderful hoop that missmoppet sent me!

I told her about my fascination with odd creatures and she totally delivered! Praying Mantis' are one of my favorites! I love love love the crayon tinting and the way she wrapped the hoop. It's the perfect piece to start my hoopla wall with!!

Here is a shot of it next to the wall that it will eventually be hung on. Aren't the colors perfect!?!

Thank you SOOO much, missmoppet. I love my new hoop!!

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

Great hoops everyone!  I love them all but I must admit I love the praying mantis to the point of envy.  It's a wonderful piece and that wrapped hoop just tops it off beautifully.

That praying mantis is now wisted. I'm totally making one for myself when I get some time next month! All of the hoops have been great so far, I can't wait to see the rest.

Norm, I wish you all the best with this upcoming dr appt! Smiley  I have a couple of friends who have battled Non Hodgkins so your piece was very sentimental to me.

French knots...yeah, lots of movie marathons to finish those. LOL

I'm not a bug person, but I love that praying mantis!

As for crayon tinting, I think everyone should try it! It amazingly easy and can add a lot of depth to your needlework. I've even tinted a piece after the stitching was done and it turned out really cool. Smiley

Whoo!  Im glad you like the manits LimeRiot!  Also, the colors look super against the wall you be putting it on.  The wrap on the hoop is actually just green bias tape, but I thought the color looked great with the green leaves and mantis.  Anyways, thanks for being my partner, I had so much fun with your hoop.  That Im actually going to make another mantis for my hoopla wall too.
