Hey!
Would anybody be interested in having a spin-along, where we spin specifically for a project?

Basically you just post what project you want to make, and then post pics of your in-progress stuff, and updates and whatnot...everyone doing different things, but cheering everyone on?

I'm spinning for a couple of sweaters right now, and I know sometimes you need a little friendly boost when you're spinning 2,500 yards of a 3-ply yarn...

Anybody with me?

A little friendly boost???  You are ambitious!

Right now I'm busy dyeing roving and spinning roving to be ready for vending at a fiber fair in 3 weeks.  After Sept 18, I'll be ready for some 'me-time' spinning.

Just got finished spinning & dyeing about 500 yards for a winter jumper for my niece.

small project spinning is totally welcome!  I figured that everyone would want to make something different, so leaving it wide open!

I'm gonna take some in progress shots of the 2 sweaters I'm spinning for...I'm making a central park hoodie, in 3 ply worsted, and a tappan z, except long sleeved, in a 2 ply sport weight.

Yes, yes, yes!  A spinalong is a great idea Smiley  I'm actually done spinning yarns for my scarves at the moment, but they're finally (slowly!) coming together.  I actually lost one of the three yarns I am using in this scarf and I've *got* to find it but I don't know where else to look Sad Moving is killer sometimes.

Spinning so much 3-ply yarn sounds ridiculously tedious.  You're much more patient than I!

I really like spinning 3 ply yarns....I'm not a singles kind of gal.
I made some good progress on my tappan z yarn this past week...I've got 12 oz of singles spun up, and 8 oz of that is already plied and ready to go.  I just have 4 more oz of singles to spin, and then ply the last 8 oz, then I'm ready to knit!  I just got my camera out to take some pics, but the stupid battery has mysteriously lost its charge again.  I think it is time to get a new rechargable battery.
I'll try and get pics up tonight or tomorrow!

The only way I ply with a 3-ply is the navaho (or chain) ply.

I'm spinning up a yellow onion skine dyed Faulkand rignt now.  I dyed it dry so I could get a varigation on how the dye struck the fiber.  I wasn't disappointed!!!  I have everything from a bright, pale yellow to a nice golden peach color in the roving.  The yarn is spinning up pretty nicely also!

I'll post both in tomorrow's Fiber Friday post

It has begun! Cheesy  Dyed my roving a couple of days ago (delicious 19.5 micron merino i got on special) and got the singles done last night (1am x_x ) Will have pictures up over the weekend with luck- Fiber friday thread is most likely.

I've made a change to the project though... the hat is going to be mine, not the bfs (he already has one)  Tongue

EDIT: Posted first section of pics over in FF
