This started as a man's XXL short sleeved, button up shirt (sorry, no before pics). I got inspired the other night and this is what I came up with! I cut the dress front so the buttons would be offset. I used new fabric (stretch jersey knit) for all the brown. The buttons on the dress are all still fully functional. I made the waistband so that it starts and stops at the button placket so all the buttons can still open. The purse is made from shirt remnants. I made the handles and flower out of the jersey. I put some non-stretchy ribbon inside the handles so they wouldn't get stretched out. The hat is made from jersey. I love how it all came together. I drafted all the patterns for this set.

I opened the top button so you can see how the collar is attached

Thanks for checking it out!!

So designer couture!  I hit the It Rocks button.  Your little girl is beautiful and poses like a pro.  Would love to see the pattern you came up with.

Would you maybe consider selling the pattern maybe please?  Or posting a tute?  But I would be willing to pay for the pattern!  Grin Grin Grin

I LOVE this!  Is the waistband a separate piece, or an overlay?  I guess what I'm asking is did you cut the top of the shirt apart from the bottom to insert the waistband, or did you just "decorate" it as-is.  (I'm wondering about the button spacing.)

Thanks! Yes, it is an overlay.

Yes, I had the listing in my shop for people to send me their shirts and I would create an outfit for them. (my shop is mostly on hiatus at the moment)

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.
