I claim laura3850 for surprise crocheted items!

This is my first claim...

Hey all! I'm Jenn, signing in from Canada Grin My cat and I share a tiny apartment, so I prefer practical over decorative items. My favourite colours are purples and turquoises, along with emerald green and coral, but I like most colours in general (though I'm not fond of yellow or neons) - I just love colour. I'm always trying new things, experimenting new crafts and recipes (I love to cook).

I adore prisms, textures, nature, light, transparency, comfort (if something's not comfortable, I won't wear it), quotes, organization, sweets, wood, glass...

I don't care for vampire, skull, morbid, bling, vintage, or steam-punk, items....

The links are provided only as examples. Big wishes are in bold!

Crafted Items:

Supplies:
  • Ball Winder
  • Fabric ModPodge or Paints
  • Fun-shaped cake moulds
  • Fun (and practical)-shaped ice cream scoop
  • Fused bead (aka perler bead) kit
  • Loom of any kind, for any material (can be handmade)
  • Metal or wood purse frames
  • Natural fibers (for making felted soap)
  • Sock Loom
  • Tunisian (aka afghan) crochet hook
  • Specialty Yarn (self-striping, wool/bamboo/coton, feltable, sock, etc.)
  • Prisms

Extras:
  • Anything thatll facilitate the life of a lefty
  • Smurf figurines (for my collection)

Kiss Thanks in advance!!! Kiss

I claim babalina85 for the Monster Seat Organizer!

This is my first claim.  (0 sent, 0 rec'd)

Hi there!

My name is Satina and I'm new to Craftster, and this is my first swap!  I am partner to another woman, and we have a 12 yr old nonverbal autistic daughter.  We live in Boise, Idaho (USA).  We met writing erotic X-Files fanfiction and wrote tons of slash about Mulder and Krycek (see below!).  We live in a super cute, spacious old (40's) apartment with lots of character, awesome varigated wood floors, WHITE walls we are not allowed to paint, and the tiniest, ickiest bathroom I've ever had.  I am a spiritual coach and she is a student majoring in poetry.

We are strange, exciting, sexy, crazy, eclectic, kind, passionate, moody, and very interesting.    We have given up all of our possessions more than once during the last ten years on a long, harrowing, miraculous spiritual pilgrimage, so we are NOT hoarders and don't have a lot of things.  We purge possessions regularly and downsize whenever possible, working constantly on making the switch to sustainable and natural.

I am blessed in that I have a whole room to dedicate to my art/crafts/work and I'm LOVING putting it all together in there.  But it's pretty empty...

I took a year of art school but didn't like being told what to create and how, so I switched to psychology and dropped my art completely.  My mom taught me to sew, and my grandmother taught me to embroider and crochet.  I have done some sewing, some crafts, some embroidery from time to time, but nothing in about ten years.  I have no stash, and I'm just now jumping back into art and craft with both feet, feeling the need to CREATE STUFF.

***NEW*** If my wishes are too big, I'm totally open to personal swap  negotiations, too.  Smiley

My style:

I have decided that besides underwear and T-shirts (which I am picky about and only buy one kind) I am not buying any store clothes again.  I will make, recon, or buy from another talented individual person, all of my clothing from now on.

For all clothing projects, I prefer natural fibers, and thrifted ones are most awesome.  I love the worn, lived in, soft look.  Natural cotton, hemp, tencel, cotton corduroy, cotton velvets, thrifted leather, denim, twill, canvas, cotton duck.

A little bit of spandex in the cotton is okay.  Fake leather is fine, or thrifted leather, but please no new leather.

I am ALLL about the seventies.

I am also all about the black leather bondage look.  More butch than femme, so no lace and ruffles, but yes to studs, rivets, and lacings.  (I know, I look so innocent, don't I?)  I love black.

For theme, I love the X-files, but only Mulder and Krycek.  I do NOT like the Mulder/Scully pairing.  No Scully.  I am ALLLL about the sexual tension and romantic relationship possibilities between Mulder and Krycek.  Ever heard of slash?    I've written hundreds of slash stories about them and ALL ALL ALL THINGS Mulder and Krycek together (M/K) are goooooood.

For decor, my partner and I love contemporary, simple, abstract.  Think modern coffee house.  Ikea.  All the colors of coffee and chocolate and cream (natural cotton and linen), some dusty blue and dusty rose, and stainless steel and silver.

I prefer cool colors and don't like warms.  I don't like white, but cream used sparingly.  (Remember those white walls?  I have enough white, thank you.)  Smiley

I love silver, platinum, stainless steel.

No's...

No polyester, even blends.  Makes me ill.
No artificial fragrances.  Also make me ill.
No down, partner is allergic.
No chochkees (LOL...how's that for a new spelling?) or stuffies or other knickknack brickabrack (give the dog a bone!)  (Alien stuff is probably the exception.)
No cute.  No ruffles and lace.
No vampire or zombie.
No vintage except 70's which I am all about.
No Scully in my X-Files.
No cute, country, animals, little stripes or checks or plaids for decor.  A chocolate, pink, and blue plaid would be the cool exception.
No yellow or orange.  No pastels except the dusty pink, blue, and sage with brown.
No gold, I prefer silver.

Crafts:

1.  I LOVE Superflare pants and jeans.  No flare is too flare.  Cool dark brown and dark blues.  Fine wale corduroy or velvet for pants, thrifted is best for the soft, drapey, worn look.  Also worn, thrifted denim with or without paisley accents.

I love paisley on my clothing.

2.  70's, India-type, Maharishi-inspired blouses with BELL sleeves, in dark brown, dark purple, black, or natural cotton.  With or without paisley accents, like around the cuffs or yoke, or within the fabric itself.  Embroidery on these in any color is cool.

3.  Crocheted openwork poncho with LONG fringe ( 1 to 2 feet), in dark or light brown and/or cream and/or blues and purples, cotton or wool or flax or other natural fiber.

4.  Messenger bag purse with LONG fringe along the bottom.  Beaded or not.  Brown, thrifted leather, with crossbody length strap.

5.  Hemp skirts and palazzo pants, both to the ankle, super full, in dark cool colors and browns, including beige, taupe, cream, khaki.

6.  Oven mitts in the light and dark colors of coffee and chocolate, with or without simple contemporary accents of dusty blue and/or dusty rose and/or dustry sage and/or silver.  Only exception to the natural fiber rule, as these must resist flame.

7.  Charm bracelet with bondage themed charms, such as handcuffs, rope, chains, locks, whips, floggers, ticklers.

8.  Corsets, black, in satin, velvet, fake black leather or black thrifted leather.

9.  Wrist cuffs in black leather or fake leather, with studs, grommets, corset lacing.  Both wide and narrow, with snap closure.

10.  THE BIG, ALWAYS, ONGOING WISH ***Mulder/Krycek anything.  So sweet!  See this art?  http://Http://www.squidge.org/~praxisters/xf/Mk/1.HTML  LOVE.  IT.  Favorite thing in the whooooole world.  Anything based on this art will make me very, very, very VERY happy.  Big stuff, like a wall hanging or quilt, especially.  But little stuff is da bomb too.  This would include a rat and a fox romantically paired...kissing, cuddled up, dressed in bondage, cuffed together...surprise me!  Ask for details to make them authentic to the characters. ***

11.  24 x 24 floor pillows in natural fibers in browns, creams, chambray blues.  Again, think Ikea.

12.  Light brown cotton sofa cover and/or loveseat cover.

Craft supplies:

1.  Grommets and tool, small sizes.  Rivets, studs, rhinestones.  Bedazzler studs and rhinestones (I have the bedazzler itself.)

2.  Embroidery supplies, including dark linens to embroider on, especially espresso brown.  (I don't like white anything, really.)  Hoops in several sizes, plastic.  All colors of thread, but especially my favorites (browns, dusty blue and pink) listed above.  Also fuschia, bright purple, teal, and lime green.  Embroidery needles.  Transfer pencil and paper.

3.  Sewing machine needles, especially denim and leather, standard Singer type.

4.  Cordless glue gun and sticks!

5.  Cordless drill/screwdriver set.

6.  Really good, sharp seam ripper, disappearing marker, ball-headed pins, retractable fabric measuring tape, pinking shears.

7.  Espresso stained (or unpainted for me to stain/paint), chunky wood picture frames and black and/or white mats.

8.  Stretched and primed canvas and canvas boards.

9.  Learn to crochet kit, with cotton yarn in my colors if possible, and metal hooks like my grandma used to use, and or ergonomic hooks.

10.  Fabrics like the ones I want for my clothing.  (see above)

11.  Seventies clothing patterns

12.  Sewing book(s) on refashioning denim.  (I don't have any yet and I LOVE all of them!)

13.  Large self-healing cutting mat and rotary cutter (I like the pink ones).

14.  Rit dye in indigo, dark brown

15.  70's patterned fabric with colors of pink and brown (psychedelic, swirly, paisley, etc.)

16.  Steam iron

17. **NEW**  Tiny, sharp scissors for cutting out fabric shapes

Extras:

1.  Anything handcuffs.

2.  Alien stuff.

3.  Metallic-looking trims.

4.  Seventies fashion mags, pictures, jewelry

5.  Creamy white coffee mugs with big, comfortable, square handles you can get all four fingers around.

6.  Coffee bean magnets, super strong.

7.  Wooden (not plastic) magnetic alphabet letters for fridge

8.  FBI themed stuff

9.  **NEW**  paisley and other 70's type appliques, or just cut out fabric shapes, like the yellow smiley face (authentic)

10.  **NEW**  Cotton corduroy scraps of ALL colors and sizes!

I claim edie22 for a Silverlake Liquor t-shirt & a surprise Smiley

1st claim this round; 0 sent; 0 received

I'm Sarah & I'm a stay-at-home mom (duh) in Chicago. I have 2 sons: Cooper, almost 3, & Dexter, almost 1. In my previous life I was a lawyer for abused & neglected kids & someday maybe I'll do that again. We're currently trying to sell our house to move about two hours away, but aren't having much luck yet because of the crappy housing market. Unfortunately, my husband already took a job there so he's been commuting 4 hours a day for almost a year. We've had a rough year to say the least! Husband gone a lot + 2 toddlers (who are terrible sleepers on top of everything!) + keeping the house clean for showings = one stressed out mommy! Luckily, crafting is my escape so I do it whenever I can. Smiley I also love spending time outside with my kids - we go to the zoo regularly, go on picnics a couple times a week, & spend time in the yard or park whenever we can. I'm a proud & public extended breastfeeding mommy and we use cloth diapers. In general, I try to be as green (& frugal) as possible. If I had any more free time I would enjoy cooking & reading, but it's been a while since I've had any real time for either of those! I love orange. I'm not a huge fan of purple. I like everything else. I probably don't like neons too much. I LOVE batik & ombre stuff. I have way too many, but I still adore bags. I dont carry a regular purse, but I adore messenger style bags. I love Dr. Seuss (especially Oh, The Places You'll Go) & I really like whimsical designs. I prefer useful items to knick knacks, especially because we're trying to declutter in preparation for moving.

I'm starting to collect gifts for my sons' birthdays (both are in October) as well as gifts for Christmas, so some of the stuff on my list is for gifts, but most of it is stuff for me 'cause I've had a rough year & I deserve it!! LOL

We have no allergies, but I get migraines from cigarette smoke so I'm very sensitive to that. Other than that, I try to avoid nuts & artificial sweeteners, and the smell of patchoulli & vanilla (although I don't imagine any of that would be an issue!).

I put items of all different sizes on here 'cause #1 I don't always know what size it is, especially if it's not a craft I do normally, & #2 I figure I have enough of a selection that someone can pick & choose what they want. (Who knows? Maybe someone's really dying to make me a large item! LOL)

I'm going to claim SAHMama for some Educational or imaginative games/toys for the kids.

1st claim, 0 outstanding, 0 sent, 0 received

Hi my name is Chris.  Im 34 and I live in Alaska with my husband, dog, and cat.  I love the outdoors and spend a lot of time outside hiking, fishing, skiing, kayaking, etc.  I love to bring the outdoors inside with nature themed art and colors.  I love greens, browns, fall colors in reds, orange, dark yellows.  Favorite animals are otters, foxes, and all kinds of birds.  I also like sea crittersnot so much fish but seahorses, jellyfish, squid, crabs, seaweed.

I have a pretty extensive wist and do keep it up to date.  Id love anything from it or inspired by something on it.

Crafty items

Help me decorate my new craft room.  The walls are an apple green.  The furniture is dark brown and white.  Im using these colors with splashes of orange and rusts.

-  Wall art I would love some art to hang in my craft room.  Embroidered wall hanging would be nice.  I also really like wood block/altered paper type art.  Or get creative.  Nature themes of trees, flowers, or birds would match well.  There are several examples of ones I like on my Wists

-  Pillowsagain similar colors and themes.  I intend to have a white daybed in here at some point and need things to cover/decorate it.  I could also use some new pillows for the living room.  Colors there are sage green, spice, and cream.

-  Print/stencil t- shirts womens size XL (or XXL if sizes run small) preferred colors: brown, dark red/maroon, rust, dark orange, greens (lime, apple, sage).  Bird or animal designs, trees, leaves, etc.  Also love geek/science themes such as molecules, cells, etc. See wists for some examples.  I tend to like v- necks better but any style collar is ok.  Have some great ones from puzzler but can always use more in other colors/designs.  Long-sleeved would be great.

-  Reusable cloth menstrual pads.  Mostly panty liners like these http://www.etsy.com/shop/Randumosity?section_id=6079802 but also a couple of longer overnight ones.

-  Knit mittens extra warm for surviving Alaska winter.  Knit wool and/or felted ones would be great in black, brown, red, or green.

-  Knit socks, nice and warm to keep my toes warm on those cold Alaska days.  I wear a womans size 8 shoe.

- An ironing mat (a large one around 36 x 20 would fit my table well but smaller is ok)

Supplies Id love to get supplies!

-  BIG WISH I really need more fun modern material; fat squares or charm packs would be awesome!  Quilting cotton.  I would love to have more modern fun prints like Amy Butler, Heather Ross, Michael Miller, etc.  I have some I like on my wist and on my amazon wish list http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/34V32DY4MEA0Q

-  Home dec weight material.  Bright modern prints or nature prints with leaves, trees, birds, etc.

- Learn to Amigurumi kit for absolute beginners.  I love all the cute amigurumi I see on here and would have fun learning to make my own.

- A poppet making kit with materials, especially body/skin material and pattern.

- Glass eyes.  Small sizes from 3- 6mm.  Solid black or black w/clear iris or dog or cat irises in shades of brown and green.

-  Felt wool felt or eco felt (please no cheap acrylic felt sheets from the craft store).  I can use all colors.
-  Embroidery pattern transfer paper or pens.
-  Bias tape makers. Any size but   to 1 inch would probably get the most use
-  Glass jars for storage.  I prefer the square jars and like the small square spice jars like these on my Amazon wish list

-  Pinking shears
-  Rotary cutter blades, regular and pinking (45 and/or 28mm size)

My name is Melissa and Im 26 and live in California.  I have a BA in Environmental Studies and currently work as the recycling educator for my countys garbage company. I am very passionate about the Earth, and strive my hardest to live a lifestyle that has the least impact on the planet: particularly by using organic, local, ethically raised, striving for zero waste, and not using plastics. I live with my partner Matt and my shelter rescued cat, Gale. We JUST moved into a bigger place, from a one-room granny unit to a 2 bedroom apartment (with a yard! and a garage! and an extra room for an office/craftroom!!!), so the majority of my list is house stuff. I spend most of my time in the kitchen, as I love to cook.

I hate the smell of any type of smoke, so if that lifestyle applies to you, please pass on claiming me. However, I have no problem with any type of animal or any other allergies.

Thanks in advance! I love mail, so feel free to send me questions or just a hello!

Crafty Things:
For the home:
Bird Wall Art: like this piece
Tea Towels: I try not to use anything single use, so I use LOTS of tea towels in place of paper towels. I'm open to any colors or themes or even plain, and I haven't figured out what decor my kitchen is yet, but Im drawn to bright colors, block prints and naturey things. Nothing frilly, too girly, or old ladyish. I've got lots of examples on my wists. I like these a lot.
]Cloth Napkins: Same reason and details as the tea towels
Reusable 100% cotton Snack Bags: like these
Reusable cloth or mesh produce & bulk bin bags: You can never have too many. If your not familiar with these, these are some great examples thanks rlynn!
Cork Mat: for in front of my kitchen sink. I LOVE this!!!
half apron: to hold clothes pins when hanging up clothes to dry. I like this one a lot
full apron: for cooking, with a side pocket I can tuck a dishtowel into for easy hand wiping. Major bonus points if you can find a cloth that is cat-hair resistant. Every dish I make has Gale hair in it, guaranteed. Cheesy
pottery, dishes, fruit bowls
garden art I like almost everything from this shop
a welcome sign I really like ones that say Matt & Melissa, est. 2008..well, Ive never seen one just like that, but thats what I would want it to say!
anything handmade, beautiful and useful!!!

For me or others:
bar soap: but not the glycerin kind. I like any scent EXCEPT sandelwood and fir. I HATE HATE pachouli. Gag...I may be an environmentalist, but I'm not a dirty hippie.  Tongue
earrings, necklaces, brooches, hair pins and pieces: I like fun, funky and chunky pieces more than delicate dainty things. I don't ware bracelets at all, nor do I have any issues to metals. I've got lots I like on my wists.
knitted leg warmers: its currently in the 100's, but they would be great to have once fall comes around! I have really skinny calves (i can measure for you if your willing to make me some). I like this style
a checkers game: I'm totally open to colors and how its made, but I would love a set! This one is cool because I could easily take it camping or on a picnic
car kit for my man: the bf Matt is in sales, so he is in his car all the time. I would love to have a kit like this for him. I can fill it if someone could make it for me! He doesn't have any favorite colors (lame, I know) but he is a die-hard Yankee's fan.
boobie tassels / pasties: I've never worn anything like this, but I would love to try! this womens shop has amazing ones.

Supplies:
do-it-yourself lamp kit: I have no idea how to make a lamp, or if they even make "kits" but I love this anthropologie lamp and refuse to spend $398 on a painted log.

Oh yeah, and some clear flat marbles. I want to make one of those bowling ball gazing balls.

I would also love it if you can you send me a copy of your favorite recipe, dish or meal plan? I collect cuttings and copies from all sorts of things, and would love to include favorites of crafty partners in the binders I have. I eat anything but mushrooms

THANKS!!!

Im going to claim santacruzsugar for snack bags and a wisty surprise!

3rd claim, 0 sent, 0 received

My name is Robin and I live in Oregon, USA.  I am a quarter Japanese, quarter Korean, quarter Jewish, quarter German (100% Mutt... yes!). I am married to Phil a fantastic cook who spoils me with delicious meals; good thing or all we'd eat would be steamed rice and veggies.  We have a 2 year old toddler named Aria who is proverbial light of our lives.  I am a feminist who is raising my daughter in an anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic household.

I am all over the board, I like whimsical, edgy, bohemian, steampunk, pretty, bold, soft, hardI wear a lot of black and gray, but Ive been branching out into the wondrous color wheel.  I love red and turquoise together. I prefer rich, jewel tone colors and earthy colors! I find myself mostly drawn to blues and greens.  I like images of birds, squirrels, mice, and trees, but I also really like skulls, anatomy, skeletons (especially of birds and other non-human creatures), and old locomotives.  You can check out my wist to get a better idea of what I like. wisty surprises are always nice.

a quick note if you claim anything for my daughter...we arent into cartoon branded stuff.  i cant stand barbie or bratz.  we dont dislike pink but we try to stay away from anything overwhelmingly girly.  she likes the ocean, digging in the dirt, burying herself in sand, and splashing in water.  for these reasons durable and washable is always good.  thanks!

Some of my wishes, BIG wishes in bold  Grin

I claim rlynn for supplies Smiley

(Sorry about the funkiness earlier; guess I've learned I can't use my Blackberry to make claims/post my list!)

2nd claim this round; 0 sent; 0 received

LOL)
