Ive been trying to find just the right words to express how I thrilled I am to have received the exquisite quilt stellou made, but despite being known among my family and friends as the one with all the big words, nothing Ive written so far has quite done it for me.  Guess Ill just have to show you (thats what this thread is for anyway, right?).

Stellou took something Id made as a starting point what a compliment! and created something completely unique.  Her design, selection of fabrics and colors, and workmanship arewell, again, my words arent quite adequate, so take a look for yourselves:

For reference, this is the CD-sized piece of mine that stellou used as a jumping off point:

And here is the quilt;  as you can see, she really only needed the words "koi" and "round" to come up with a totally original idea:

Focal area:

Texture detail:

Beading details:

Algae and flower; the algae is tatted, and the tiny flower appears to be layers of stitches with embroidery floss (thats a seed bead in the center the real flower is maybe the size of this picture!)

Stellou, I cant stop admiring your lovely work, and it will be prominently displayed so everyone who visits can admire it (and envy me), too.  Thank you so very, very much -- you created something not only beautiful in its own right, but also absolutely perfect for me, and I will treasure it always.

Oh my goodness! These quilts are amazing Smiley I love all the extra thread details in the round koi fish quilt- who knew that friendship bracelet knot tying would be great for other applications, such as seaweed ^_^ hehehe

The celtic knot quilt just has my head reeling at how nicely the knot were done. It must have taken forever to get the fabric to line up just right and centered!

And loobie- I'm not a big fan of the color purple... but, I think you're pulling me over to the dark side. I love the fabrics you chose and the pattern is an eye-crosser! I really really love it and wouldn't mind having something like that hanging in my house! Smiley

I'm so sad that this gallery is coming near an end because I would love to see more pretty quilts! Hopefully I can join the next round when it pops up! I think this is my favorite swap to date Smiley
