Before:

After:

This chair was from my in laws house, and has spent the last 10 years in my basemant.
I started by cutting pieces of muslin as a base, then cut a base of batting. I then pinned selvage strips to create a fabric. Next, I sewed the selvage strips down. I then trimmed everything, and fit the various pieces together. Finally, I stapled it on to the base of the chair

Come take a look on my blog to see how I did it with lots of photos!

That is awesome, I love the fabric!
Every time I see one of these I get a little bit closer to trying it myself.

This is really wonderful.  I like the fabric strip idea and it creates and amazing pattern.

Great chair redo. I have been searching -thriftly- for a barrel type chair to do. (thank god it's almost yard sale season!) Going to check out the blog now, thanks.

I love this what a great way to use scraps and not have to buy lots of expensive upolstery fabric, (bad speller Wink). I have a couple things I could use this technique on.
