Hello everyone, I've been a lurker on here for a while. Seeing everyone's work has given me so much inspiration I figured I should give back a little. I've been working on this skirt over a couple of weeks. I probably spent about 10 hours on it and it feels very gratifying to have it done!  Smiley

It could probably be pressed a bit better and the photo quality isn't the best but I just wanted to share.

Let me start by saying..
I WANT YOUR HAIR.

*ahem*
Beautiful skirt, I love how the plaid pattern you chose isn't big and bold like a lot of plaid these days. Still classy. Nice length too.
Good job!

It looks great! Did you use a pattern for it?

Thank you! I just kind of made it up as I went along and used one of the skirts I already own for reference. And I got some advice from some more experienced sewers I know. Sorry probably should have put that bit in the description.

Very nice result, I've made a similar skirt for myself recently but got the measurements totally wrong & it's too small for me and my daughter is a bit picky & won't wear it.

After seeing this, I'm inspired to have another go, it looks really nice.

Thank you. It's too bad it didn't work out the first time but honestly m first go didn't turn out that great either. The first time I made this skirt it was low waisted and shorter. It looked sloppy and was a little loose. But that's just part of learning when your making clothes though. It taught me I need to be more careful and have patience with the garment. Good luck with your project. I'm sure it'll turn out great.
