Looking for sewn or crocheted sports figure dolls patterns

I've been searching the web for sewing or crocheted patterns for stuffed sports dolls IE; a baseball player, football player, soccer player, hockey player or basketball player and haven't really come up with anything.  I do have a crochet pattern for a 21" football doll.  I really don't want anything this big, I also have one for a baseball player.  This pattern doesn't give the size but it looks smaller and I will probably make this one.  I can't seem to find anything to make for my grandson who will be 8 shortly.  My daughter said I could make him some sports figures.   
Each year I have been sewing a doll for my granddaughter who is 10 now.  She has a collection of them on a shelf in her room and I would like to start a sports collection for my grandson.  I also have  a pattern for a crocheted glove, ball and bat.

I hate to say it, but, you just might have to make plain dolls, and then make their uniforms for them.  That's the only thing I could think of.

I was thinking of that.  It's so hard to find things to make for boys.  I usually give a bond for the grandkids birthdays but I like to give them something tangible also.
