well, I know I am slow, but I did finally make a recipe from the swap! I had some apples that were good, but starting to get a little past prime. I knew the boys wouldn't be snacking on them as well, so I got out the old apple corer, peeler, slicer and next thing you know, I had a crock pot full of apples. I did realize after that I was out of allspice and cinnamon so my hubby made a trip to town.  Grin well to make a long story longer, after a long night of bubbling and smelling heavenly, this morning I have a crockpot full of apple butter. I put a clothes pin on the lid to let some of the water evaporate. I did have some on a couple of slices of home made wheat bread I got at the farmers market yesterday!  Grin YUMMY YUMMY!!!! I will try tp get a picture before it all gets eaten up.

I do have a question. How do you save this apple butter, freezing or canning or does it just disappear so fast you don't have a chance to keep it?

I usually hot process my apple butter. It makes great holiday gifts.
