These are a couple things I made recently. Sorry the pictures aren't awesome; it's been raining and I couldn't get much light

I picked up some care bear fabric a little while ago, and remembered I was going to my nephew's 1st birthday soon so I used it to make a dress for that. I loved the care bears when I was little so I couldn't resist when I saw this fabric at Walmart. Of course I didn't have enough of it (I often either have too much or not enough, what's up with that?) and ended up having to run out and get something to match. The only thing I could find was yellow because of the odd colors, but I like how it worked out. The colors are probably most accurate in the pocket photo, though still not quite exact, oh well. I used the bodice from new look 6457 as a basis. I never follow patterns very closely though haha

There's a shirred back, no zipper:

It's fully lined (I've been doing that a lot lately). The straps button onto the inside. I made the button holes too close to the ends at first, so I had to do a second set.

here's another thing I've been doing a lot lately: pockets! I really love doing invisible pockets in the side seams and these have an extra secret - they button on the inside so nothing falls out.

The hair bow just slides onto the headband so I can wear it in the middle or on the side.

and I made some pin bows to put wherever I'd like. I didn't notice the top one is a little scrunched until I uploaded the photo, woops...

Then today, I made a fluffier/shorter petticoat (which is under the dress in the photos above). It's three layers of netting in blue because when I went, Joann's didn't have enough white for two petticoats (I made one in white as well that is a little less full but longer). I used the pattern from the gosu rori mook, but again with some changes.

Thanks for looking! Please let me know what you think
