Sounds like I was wrong about putting in the 3 swap limit.  Sorry.  It seemed like a good idea at the time.  I really had no idea that people participated in so many at once.

I'll re-write the rule so it says that there's no limit if you have POSITIVE feedback for at least one past swap.

What should we do about first time swappers?  Maybe the rule will be only ONE swap to start out until you prove yourself by getting POSITIVE feedback for that swap.  And then there's no limit.

Whattya think?

as a first-timer, i think that's totally fair.  i'm itching to do more than one right now,but i haven't even started yet and i have to tell myself to calm down. . .because i DON'T yet know what kind of involvement it will take.

*thumbs up*

I think it is fair to let people who have some positive feedback participate in more than 3 swaps at a time. I also think it would be fair to require 3  positives before that though as that may help solve the problem (I did say MAY) Sad

I have been policing myself (I only sign up for 3 swaps a month) & although I am now signed up & participating in 5 swaps only 3 have send out dates in May the other 2 have send out dates in June but the signups end in May. So as the rule stands now I would miss out on signing up for the other 2 swaps unless the organizers of my swaps changed me from "in progress" to positive as soon as they received my packages.

I also think the 1 swap per newbie would be fine too! As a relative newbie I wouldn't have been offended by that at all.

Thanks for listening & taking all our thoughts into consideration Leah. We all appreciate that you work so hard & do so much to make craftster awesome for us! Grin

Just updating this thread to say that the Swap Documentation has been changed to eliminate the 3 swap maximum rule.
http://www.craftster.org/swapsinfo.html
(you might need to refresh the page to see the latest version)

The new rules for who qualifies for to be able to swap are below. If you have a swap underway and you've already accepted people who would have been rejected under these rules, that's OK. But these rules should be followed for any future swaps.

1 You need to have been a Craftster member for at least 1 month to participate in a swap. This includes organizing or participating in a swap.

2 You need to have posted at least 15 times on Craftster.

3 If you have never swapped on Craftster before, you can only sign up for ONE swap to start out with. Then when you complete that swap and get Positive Feedback, you can sign up for as many others as you want. (But don't sign up for more than you can handle!)

4 If you've neglected to fulfill your part in a past swap, you're not allowed to join any more until you fulfill those obligations. (This information is recorded in your Profile.)

YAY!  Grin

I was stressing over if I should sign up for a swap, because what if something I REALLY wanted to do even more came along and I missed it! This makes things much easier.

Of course, I've been staggering my swaps anyhow, so that the end dates are far enough apart that I still have plenty of time to devote to each craft. EEP! Swaps are so fun! Grin (LOL...excuse my dorkiness....)
