My favorite painter is Gustav Klimt, and I have been wanting to make some jewelry inspired by his paintings for some time now. Originally I thought I would make beads with polymer clay, but I am still fairly new to polymer so this is still a work in progress. I hand painted some wooden beads, which are featured in these necklaces.  I love the burnt orange freshwater pearls in the second one, it was hard for me to actually use them (as opposed to hoarding them like a little treasure.)

What do you think?

I can definitely see the connection between your piece and the work of Klimt! Great work!

Neat! I love Gustav Klimt. You did a good job capturing that style. I know what you mean about hoarding treasures too...but now it's a treasure you can wear!

I would wear either one of these every day. I love them.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I am working on more for a craft show in October, I will post more as they are finished.

I like these a lot. Great way to handle wooden beads! I love that you've made them good enough to put next to pearls... and I am a pearl addict. I *totally* get what you mean about hoarding them! I am going to try to let this inspire me to stop hoarding my pearls and start doing things with them. I'm just always afraid that what I do might not be good enough, because I love them so much.  Cheesy
