It's been a long while since I've picked up a pencil but I needed to get some Christmas presents done and I've been really inspired to do some artwork lately. So every time I'm about to do a drawing I like to do a practice piece to get me in the swing of things. I CAN NOT wait to share what I've been working on but I can't until January because it's a surprise Christmas gift and I don't want to risk it So here is my practice piece; It is a  portrait of Emily Browning done in colored pencil.

The photo shows the true colors the best, neither are a very good representation of it, it looks way better in person.

You are so talented! How did you get it to look so smooth? Everytime I use colored pencils you see every line, I can't get the colors to blend well at all. You did an amazing job.

Thank you! I use a mixture of blending stumps, pressure, a blending pencil, and white. Prisma color colored pencils are the only ones Ive found that blend well. I got a set in colllege (they are pricey) and now I just buy them one by one as I need them from Hobby Lobby. They are about $1.65 a pencil. I draw on smooth Bristol board also. Thanks again!
