I was shopping for jewelry displays since I have a booth in the upcoming Festival of Cultures in Nashville.  All of them were so expensive!  Being the frugal freak I am that doesn't throw anything away, I made my own.

1. Burgundy bracelet pillow.  Toilet paper roll wrapped in velvet and padding taken from a reclaimed Christmas stocking.  I wrapped it and tucked in the ends, stuffed in some fast food napkins, pinched the ends together and tacked them shut with needle and thread.

2. Earring holder.  Discarded wire hanger from the cleaners twisted with pliers and wrapped in discarded white ribbon.

3. A shoe I got at goodwill (I wore the pair to an 80's themed party).  I filled the bottom of the shoe with two walmart bags, put a piece of cardboard (cut from a soda box) on top of them with some duct tape rolled sticky side out.  Then I lined up packing peanuts and stuck them down.  It will hold rings, earrings, broaches, and other small jewelry.

Really cute ideas!  I do something similar to the toilet paper roll, but I used a paper towel roll so it can hold 5-6 bracelets and I lay the roll on top of a mirror I got from IKEA.  It makes for a very pretty display!  I think the shoe could be made even better if you tucked some fabric or velvet between the creases to cover the peanuts, I saw a display like that with a high heel and really liked it!!
