These were originally 2 fuzzy balls I made.  They had eyes - but you couldn't see them and creatively, they did nothing for me.  So I just started crocheting and turned them into a monster and alien respectively.  Are they just too weird? I'm not too crazy about the one that looks like a bear (the monster), I added the nose at the last minute, now I wish I hadn't, but it's hot glued on.

These are cute! At first glance, I thought the bear/monster only had one eye like a cyclops. Maybe if you took off the actual eyes and made the white a little larger it would be more "monsterish."

I think they're great, I love their wild weirdness! I see what you mean about the nose, and agree that it would be good as an eye. Maybe you could make two more the same, put them over the existing eyes, and then it would be three-eyed?
